I really not see the logical that remove OTH would fix the issue?

Its more logic that its daemon issue eg: daemon does not turn on/off reader as expected.

IMHO from no on the only recomendation save battery is to turn of the daemon as guide given.

if it still not work well then there are other battery issues that need fixes.
