I am wondering what if newer devices are shipped with the latest firmware from the start? I guess they won't have the chance to go back to an older factory snapshot…? I think all the anger here just comes from the fact that it would have been nice to wait with locking the bootloader until an unlock process was actually in place.

Anyway, I am confident people at Jolla learned from all this. I hope there will be a different flash or partition for the modem bits so a factory image can be distributed for future devices.
