eMMC has nothing to do with IMEI. The download path's resemblance to an IMEI looks like a coincidence. In fact, there is precious little n the eMMC image anyway. Just some default ringtones and sample sounds and videos. Everything else is in the root image and gets moved to eMMC in the first optification on the first boot. Which is why the first boot takes so long.
