I'm sure lots of people would find such a gap horrible but I have to say that I actually would not mind if my N900 would become that fat if it meant that I can have a more free operating system in my pocket If it will be even thinner than that in the end, only all the better!

But then again I also put up with the horrible shape of the gta01/02/04
