Yes, you can play music while surfing the internet and create playlists. The only problem you may run into is the available flash memory. The 770 doesn't come with a whole lot of internal memory. I bought a extra 1 gig card and I still can't get a lot of music on it (since I have a bunch of apps installed, a video or two, and some extra random files).
