It's very unlikely this is your issue but worth mentioning none the less.

I have a similar thing when I use callerx application, when a call is blocked the screen will switch on and off quickly.

If you backup and do a full reflash this will rule out any software issues. You could also check dmesg and any other devtools like syslog to see if there's something occurring.
