So, I've got a Pelican 1040 on the way (with foam inserts), and I got a black Maxpedition "Fatboy" gear bag (the picture makes it look a little bigger than it really is, but it's a very good size for carrying an N810+iGo+cellphone+still room for a little bit of stuff ... couple probably even put an EeePC in the back-most pocket. Not big enough for a laptop (a good thing, I didn't want a laptop case), big enough to comfortably carry my N810 gear.

I got my maxpedition through ebags, but here's the maxpedition fatboy page (I really like their product line; if I ever want a laptop bag, I'll probably get their "last resort tactical attache" bag ... and if I decide I want more space than the fatboy gives me, I might get the manta or colossus bags ... that might let me roll up a rain poncho in one of the compartments, the fatboy is just slightly too small for that ... but I could attach a pouch to its underside for it, if I really want to).
