Although there are many nice enhancements in 2006, one big problem exists for me.
Binary incompatibility with debian arm. Not being able to use binaries from debian arm will severely restrict what my 770 is able to do. There have been many situations where being able to extract what I need from a debian pkg has saved me a lot of work.
I am not always near a compiling platform and I don't always want to compile an entire package when something simple is needed. There are also some packages available for arm linux that will work on the 770 that are not even available as source.
If some kind of wrapper becomes available that will make the older binary files work on the 2006 OS, I may be able to upgrade eventually.
I appreciate all the work that the developers have put into 2006, it just isn't an "upgrade" from my point of view.
