Maemo 6 is called Harmattan (aka MeeGo) and has been used on Nokia N9/50. You are welcome to port it (however it's dead platform when Sailfish OS & Tizen is out), but the most important community effort is called NeoFremantle (or Freemantle, if you want) (you can find it's section here on TMO).
Also for sure, take a look on Aapo's Maemo Reloaded project, which is IMHO the true Maemo 6.

DalvikVM is the same. If you want to port it, port it.
Checkout 'Android inside chroot' (aka "NeoDroid" (?) ) thread where we are trying to "boot" Android inside LXC container (it's simillar stuff).
