a. Did you checked the master volume in the tablet?
( canola cannot sets the master volume device, and if the volume is zero or sometimes if the volume in the media player is zero this can influentiate canola) so make sure both volumes are in maximum

b. Did you reboot the system (without being plugged on power) before installing ( just to make sure all the services are started correctly) if it was first time installing canola... theres no need to do so.

UPNP : is already in final testing, it's a third party pluggin that we are adappting to canola, we plan to release in the next big, feature based update

Hi Marcelo,

a. I did check volume levels and again after your post because I do occasionally have my "dumb" moments

b. Nope, I did not reboot before installation but this is the first Canola installed on my N800. Have rebooted now but still no vid sound (songs play ok). Running from terminal the only feedback from canola is "[]" (that's it I swear).

Edit: forgot to mention that sound is ok when played via Media Player.

UPNP: Good to hear, looking forward to it. Would be nice to have an all-in-one solution.

On another note, if I read some of the previous posts correctly it has been requested to be able to select directories. I understand that this has implications for GUI design but I would settle for an interim/ alternative solution: restrict canola to only scanning directories containing ".canola" (empty file) or simply a user editable text file stating specific directories to scan?

PS: I am online for the next hour so if you want to get to the bottom of the vid sound problem let me know what I can do to help, otherwise it may be ~3 wks before I am back.
