U.S. gov't stated a week ago that though the honey bee colony-collapse count was less last year than previous years ..populations are still declining...making the honey bee's survivability unless radically helped...(including the necessity of immediate cessation of specific man-made toxins, crop sprays, monoculture farming practices and the preservation and enhancement of wildflower species and their habitats from encroaching suburban development ...none of which will ever happen) ...One our greatest friends....One of the underpinnings of nature...one of the most critical species that our planet has ....will go. Even with computer's calculating the impact...it is uncertain how vast the devastation will be....and not just to our immediate food supply which relies upon pollination...but consequently ALL the other species that rely upon pollination or plants that are pollinated...and subsequently all the species that are dependent as predators upon said species..and those species which are inter/co dependant...
It just isn't a matter of a few types of veggies and fruit that are affected by the absence of the bee...nor a domino effect...or anything like that...it is a vast devastation effect. An E.L.E. ...for us? No. But for many other species...and the biodiversity of the planet ...yes...as a result...the next epoch...Eremocene...is not to my liking...look it up...you won't like the common name for it anymore than what it represents...
