Wow... I just really looked at the path ofthose libs above and realized the files are not in any way installed with the rtl-sdr package but were in /home/user from my previous attempt to hand install the various files

Also USB mode works better than HEN for this application and is also right there to use, just use 'host mode with boost'.

so that I can chop the end off and have a few cut wire antennas which trave better than the mag mount which seems more appropriate for in a car.
