Since it is your first post to a forum ever, you would think you might be a little more receptive to suggestions on how to fit in and make your posts as legible as possible. It is quite obvious from my post (notice the "hehe", the "=)" ) that I was keeping the mood light.

The more legible and reader friendly you make your posts, the more likely you are to receive responses or helpful tidbits. It's the way of the internet.

To throw some small advice concerning your questions, I have the same router and similar cable internet connection you do. While my N800 is fairly fast for what it is, the speed it no where near my laptop download speeds. My laptop is a Dell Inspiron E1505 that dual boots Ubuntu gutsy gibbon and Vista.

If the tablet is capable of opening the mentioned files (I don't have the sharing system you do) I would expect it to be quite a bit slower, depending on memory cards installed and network speed. The music would be ok I think, but the movies might prove to be a handful for the tablet at full resolution. Maybe putting up movies with smaller encodings just for the tablet might work better (should be around 250 megs, or so) for smaller ones, and would look fine on the tablet screen.
