Even if they did, I'd still vote for TMDb - their data is freely available (unlike IMDb's) and anyone can help. Just log in and add any data you're missing (that's what I'm doing ).

Oh sorry, i didnt know that IMDB's API is not an open source. Any way i use IMDB for mostly getting the star ratings and user reviews before i watch or download any movie, that is so rarely possible with TMDB for many foreign languages' movies. And when anyone can add and edit information about movie, it may happen that someone will be adding wrong information, like wikipedia, as our professor once said, many articles on wikipedia have wrong information.
Anyway its still nice to have a movie related app for N9.
