I generally like transparency. Back when I was on Council I made sure:

• Meetings happened weekly, at a set time, in an open forum.
• Meeting minutes were posted to the Council Blog.
• That all messages sent to council (via council@m.o) were read and replied to.

Not an easy task, and it got lots of complaints for both "not being open and available enough" or "airing dirty laundry", usually at the same time.

I wish you luck in this. Personally, I'd love to see someone run for Council with this as their goal. But given how such people wind up being treated, I doubt it will ever happen again.
