everythingsablur,
Glad I could help make dual boot easier to install. It is amazing what you can do with the n800 running os2008.
Now I will instruct on how to make it a truly amazing business tool. I was on a trip for a month and the n800 was my only computer! I was able to play videos for clients, had incredible wifi at every hotel I stayed in as well as wifi throughtout the cities I visited. I also for the first time using KDE did actual office doc's!
If you followed my simplified instructions above on dual boot I will now show you how to add KDE office quickly and painlessly.
Go back to Pronuke instructions and add steps 6(installs tar app),7(installs bzip2 app) and 8(installs/activates targnu). Then send a private message to PenguinBait(do a search for his message) and send him a pm saying that you have successfully installed the dual boot and are running the os2008 from mmc. There are several KDE threads to help explain in detail just do a search. Also PenguinBait has a website that has additional info. When PenguinBait sends you the KDE just follow his instructions for loading KDE or go back to Pronukes instructions and follow steps 11, 12, and 13.
On Pronuke step 12 make sure to change in xterm under sudo gainroot the file name.
KDE358.tar.bz2 /KDE358.tar.bz2 to KDE358v2.tar.bz2 /KDE358v2.tar.bz2
and
SUP.tgz /SUP.tgz to SUPv2.tgz /SUPv2.tgz
Step 13 of Pronuke instructions you need to change the following file name
/tar jxvf KDE385.tar.bz2 to /tar jxvf KDE358v2.tar.bz2
/tar jxvf SUP.tgz to /tar zxvf SUPv2.tgz
The first one will take about 40 minutes.
The second one will take about 20 minutes.
Make sure to reboot by typing: shutdown -r now
Go into extra menu and click on KDE and it will load in about 2 minutes.
Make sure to logout from KDE so that you go back to dual boot mmc menu without problems. To use KDE properly you will need a keyboard on n800(I use Nokia bluetooth keyboard) or keyboard on n810. There is an onboard keyboard in KDE when you are in a pinch but it is very small(see screenshot below). There must be over a 30 programs on KDE!
Enjoy! Dan
