How stable is it?
Absolutely stable for everyday device use. Mainstream distros would say "stable for use with production devices"

Versions before 1.0-9 had some bug that insisted on using "design capacity" where it shouldn't, resulting in absurds like 3100/1240 mAh reported, when using kernel-power modules. Probably same for vanilla BME, haven't tested - the point is, that full capacity was always wrong (although, for single-cell battery users it *might* seemed like plausible, real full capacity - was fake one in reality, nonetheless).

AFAIK, version in thumb is 1.0-8, so you need to enable cssu-devel, install status-area-applet-battery (it doesn't pull any dependencies from cssu-devel), then disable cssu-devel again. YMMV, so feel free to test 1.0-8 yourself.
