Good idea, I added the script on userscripts.org here http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/22974 . I tagged it with both n800 and maemo.

Any suggestions on how to enhance it is very welcome. Now I only hope the guy working with google gears for maemo will wake up and let us download his early build!
