This discussion on rap/hiphop is downright funny since other genres of music are equally as questionable (to me) as death and black metal. One trades slang and profanity for grunts and profanity.

Oh well, back to the subject at hand - I can easily glean that I have zero overlap with any of you guys on music; let's continue our overlap in the realm of being a geek and mobile OS enthusiast with opinions and preferences.

Anyway, Jolla to India at a competitive price is a good thing. Whether or not the Indian market will embrace it has yet to be seen. There's cheaper Android One phones in the market, the Google (Lenovo pending) owned Motorola G (2014) phone that's upcoming soon and of course other phones that are already out and cheaper and probably have better specs.

But even then, Sailfish will soon be launched as a launcher - it's in testing now. The community needs to be expanded to grab these newer developers that India has a plethora of and fold them into Sailfish with the promise of being a "big fish in a little pond" - their efforts will be taken up by a much smaller community in greater numbers/percentages than they would in iOS and Android. Their efforts could gather more accolades and attention while growing Jolla's ecosystem organically.

I, for one, see a lot of potential of being adopted into China (HK) and India markets even if they grab just 1%. We're talking about 2.x Billion (not sure of the actual number but I know it's huge) and 1% of that is a large number for a small company like Jolla.

Not bad for a group of Nokia upstarts that are still doing their thing long after leaving Nokia and that pit of purgatory called Windows Phone under Elop's rule.

I just hope that they understand marketing and community need to be tied together better. I dislike how it's being handled at the moment; but that's my beef with Jolla. Well that and as an American, I'll all but shut out with only a glimpse of Sailfish on my Nexus 5 (alpha with limited apps and functionality) or to purchase a phone somehow and then have only 2G level support while away from wi-fi.

Not ideal.

Let's see what happens in India.
