There's no way it's a tablet. Media functions, UI's suitability, paid apps (app consumption is way higher on tablets than phones) etc etc ... they're a long way off from being workable or competitive on tablet. Jolla may be behind in features and stability in the smartphone stakes, but they're much closer to competing than they are with the likes of the Nexus 9 and iPad.
New, possibly larger phone (phablet)? Evidence:
It's the clear trend in the market.
The current phone looks pretty aged and is lacking in the spec department.
Inventory will have been whittled down by the recent sale and launch in several new markets.
AFAIK, no Jollas have been produced since the last production run in March / April. Would make more sense to release an updated product instead of commission a new production run, at this stage.
No-one reasonably well informed will have paid the old, higher price for the existing Jolla phone, so won't have too much to complain about if a newer, better phone quickly supercedes it.
