I'd say not so slowly. A few factors affected this. First, LTE is becoming dominant very fast and CDMA is falling behind. Second, T-Mobile ditched device subsidies. And the last factor are universal LTE modems. More and more people just buy generic device on Amazon for instance and then just chose provider. So situation is now is very different than let's say two years ago.
