So, I was driving thru a city far away from home, when I noticed a signpost saying "The Orthodox church of Hagia Sophia >".

I surely did not expect this. More than thousand kilometers from Constantinople (closer to thousand miles, in fact, as I have checked later). More than five centuries since Hagia Sophia ceased to be a church. I just had to follow the sign.

It turned out that local Orthodox community had built Hagia Sophia lookalike (much, much smaller, of course), dedicated it just like the original and even managed to get Patriarch of Constantinople to open the church.

It was dark, the moon was rising behind the church, and I stupidly decided to use digital zoom to frame the image (yet still some lantern made it to the photo). So, another thing I did not expect -- how poor will the result be. But having nothing better for this month -- here it is.
