hm, when connected to powersupply and turned on,
then it may be visible via usb, but only when that option is checked in phone. But when the phone asks about opening usb, when you connect it, then you need a working screen.

when it automaticly connects via your wlan/wifi and developer mode is activated you may access it via ssh/scp. But if you not yet know that option, i expect the needed developer mode to be inactive

you could buy another N9 and exchange the display (you only need a Torx-T3 screwdriver to replace display). maybe you can also buy a replacement-display, there are dealers who sell it and you may find them via google
