Not responding doesn't mean that noone has heard anything on this matter.

In principle this would be trivially easy as you can control (read: patch and compile yourself) the kernel on the N900. Probably it's not even needed, but it certainly makes it easier.

Now do your homework and figure out where the kernel decides which usb id to send when asked.
