Part of the problem in a (quasi) open source community is you can install anything you dang want. It's not going to hurt my feelings any... However, at the same time, don't expect things to work as designed when installing new applications in the future.

This has got to drive developers nuts as they try to resolve bugs in new releases... I know it drives me nuts when I try to follow along in threads for new apps I have installed and people are complaining about behaviors I haven't experienced. Or worse, the complaints are so vocal it puts me off installing an otherwise fine application.
