Update 1: Replaced my phone number with ########

Update 2: Actually, after a reboot, the VM icon shows up. I still get the SMS, but the icon also shows up.

Once I delete the VM, the icon gets removed correctly and I receive the following text message:

//VVM:SYNC:ev=MBU
