John:

1) what device / firmware are you using ?

2) so you checked all your media folders in (audio, video and photos) correctly? (like the Eye with a small "check" is on every memory card?

3) if on a n810 you made sure to format the internal memory (to prevent from a known product problem)

4) if none of this happens please try :

Running canola using the application xterm (on utilities) with :

canola -vvv

then try to play a file and send to us.

Also try to see if you have atabake installed by typing it on the xterm.

If the settings doesnt find you may have a corrupted installation that is a recurring problem that we are "observing" through the releases, it seems that the repositories send a "OK" for some file.. and it's not true in the end.. you get a damaged installation.
