This is definitely a symptom of the worst of western culture...
the senseless violence...and the repercussion and resulting escalation of tensions ...
Note that such "worst" parts of western culture really seem to center around the "rights of the individual" conflicting directly with the "societal need for safety"

hell ...instead of addressing the root problem...the allowance of individual citizens access to war-time over-kill and specific human killing weaponry...assault rifles, bazookas, etc...
the population then decides that arming everyone...everywhere...is the answer. Really???
From what I understand.. weaponry in any temple or church is anathema to every faith...it is supposed to be a sanctuary "from" violence. Bringing weaponry into a sanctuary is going to stop the violence? Really???
And what's next?...making sure the kids don't forget before heading out the door to school to pack their lunch and their Beretta???
And considering the increasing violence in the U.S....
there has been an escalation of civilians purchasing armoured vehicles instead of finding a more rational way of dealing with the problem.
it only works for those that can afford it...
and only works for as long as you stay "in" the vehicle..
gotta come out sometime...
as well...that's saying someone doesn't attack your armoured vehicle with something which can pierce it or blow it up.
Which seems pretty readily available for public purchase in the U.S.
So really... armoured vehicles are no "real" solution.
Incredible how the "Right (to have an armed standing militia.. not tied to government) to bear arms (just in case) (to rise up in revolt against a tyrannical government)." got twisted so badly.
