NOTICE!

We have received enough funds for the ongoing EU Trademark refreshing, and currently need no more donations towards this cause any longer!


Thanks for everybody, the community spirit we have is awesome

We managed to raise 3451.43 euros in just a bit over 5 weeks time, which I think is marvellous!

During the reorganization of Maemo the original trademark rights were transferred from Nokia to Hildon Foundation.
Now, as HiFo arranged transfer of those intangibles to Maemo Community e.V. we have the right to the "Maemo" trademark in various areas around the world.

Trademarks are only registered for a certain period of years, after which they will expire unless renewed by paying to the registration agencies.

Now the deadlines for registration periods are again approaching and if we want to keep hold of the TM's we need funds to do that.

The most important registrations now are EU countries. After that come China, Russia and USA

I am now asking for donations to Maemo Community for the trademark renewing.
If you believe it is important that we keep the "Maemo" trademark alive, please contribute.

If the bank transfer requires a detailed address of the recipient, you can use the following:

If we do not get enough donations, it might be possible that we cannot register any or all trademarks.

If you wish your donation to be counted only for TM registration, please state so in the bank transfer text so we can refund your donation in case the registration fails short of funds.

PayPal
Please, use only for the sake of saving transfer fees on banking - PayPal contributions will be cut by 1.9%+0.35€ - so if you can use the bank transfer please stick to that (even as NPO PayPal charges %+0.35€ and every cent counts!).

Note: As we already received donations via PayPal from members within the Eurozone and lots of people demand anonymous registration with maemo.org and the MCe.V. -> just to let you know, PayPal forces us (and any other business) to provide bookkeeping for the USA (no kidding, some shady tax fraud rule that applies to all customers having bank accounts outside the US)
