Short question, short answer.

Framebuffer-Kernel, auto-login, suddenly your screen is broken, battery......

Tell more in detail what you did, what are you using, when does it happen.
Maybe then somebody can help you.

It could also be that you try to hammer a Fedora-DVD into your N900, then it would be no wonder that your screen stays black.
