Thanks for your replies. If there is enough interest I would be willing to maintain the info in a sticky thread or wiki, but I'd need help getting started as I've never done it before.
In my opinion the current PIM functionality is still lacking a solid solution. Hopefully if we can keep this info current it might encourage continued development.
