Utilizing the connectivity of the phone without the nightmare of integrating cell tech into the n8x0.
Letting the n8x0 do what it does well...

Convincing the world this is the way to go...
well that hasn't happened ever with maemo..
and I don't think ever will.
But It is a very smart and sane approach for budget-minded hacker device projects ...
