While I LOVE my N810 and use it as if it were my right arm... If I were buying a pocket device to be used in during nursing school/practice I would buy something like a Palm TX. You'll find tons of drug books, medical reference apps, MS Word apps etc. I doubt very seriously that you'll find any drug/medical reference apps for Maemo unless you make them yourself (like html for FBreader).
I've been a RN for 10 yrs and I'm currently studying to a Molecular Biologist - my N810 is always in my pocket when I'm in the lab/classroom - I do have quite a few scientific reference books made and I read pdf journal articles a lot. But whenever I work a shift at the hospital, I take my old Palm TX with me - I still use the medical reference books quite often.
