Since the GPS antenna is located on the top left hand corner, if you hold the N810 upright with the zoom button pointing up, and have a clear view of the sky, my N810 can lock onto sats in 15-30 sec. Once you have acquired your location, it will maintain the sat positions very well, so you can then tilt the N810 into a more confortable view angle.
