Hi, This does not sound quite right. They were selling telecommunications equipment, presumably made by ZTE, to North Korea and Iran. Not U.S. goods. Maybe the equipment used US parts. Apparently ZTE did not "punish" the involved employees but instead gave them bonuses! The ban ensued...

On an other note. I bought a drone for $20. Still checking it out but it seems to work pretty well. Looking forward to torturing my cats!
