Not a problem man...
I know it is a scary thing when a device doesn't want to work proper...

Now ...the card type and brand...
First explore that...

Just because it works fine on another device doesn't mean it will on the n900...straight out of the gate.

And if your card will work...then...it is possible it may need formatting...

I would also try a known working card type...as well...just to check that it is the card....and not the system or the slot that are the issue...
Then it is easier to narrow the problem down...

there are a few things to check before beginning to worry about the card slot.
