We now this last character bug, gustavo is already fixing, it passed our tests, but we will provide a fix along with other bugs asap. The "looks like some albums" part we need your help, if you send your files to me we can work it out to see what's happening.

Thanks for fixing the truncation bug! As to the missing some albums, I have got two Decemberists albums, but only one of them gets shown in the list. It may be somehow related to the truncation bug: I will update and retest.

No, we already explained that "inside" canola cannot be download album art. it's illegall, there's a third party application for that (Canola-tuning). Sorry for the trouble, but unlike the other media players we are a small company, and we do need to comply with the legal issues :/

I thought there was a special clause in the US copyright law specifically covering this kind of stuff.

Please, send me a private message with the albums you are having problems ( do you see them in the default media player correctly? what formats they are? do you know the id3 tag version? )

They are plain MP3s with ID3v2 tags, as far as I can tell. Let me update Canola and see if it fixes things first.
