Well...
I normally put it up 12 days before...
and take down the tree and decos. no later than the 12th day after (It is REALLY bad luck leaving it up past that...)
But I could use the color about the place...It would cheer me up with the rainy grey weather we have been having...give me the gumption to start baking christmas goodies...early..
and due to my work...I don't want to do it during work days, nor put the tree up last minute...
Also due to the nature of my work, where I live, etc...
I am not bombarded with X-mas like everyone else...
I haven't heard or seen anything X-mas-sy at all....
And I won't until I put on some classic songs, and the decos up.
I lead a sheltered life from the vagaries and madness of humanity
The joys of rural life.

(I am fortunate this year, I have Christmas Eve day, Christmas day , Boxing Day, and the day after Boxing Day, ...off ...to boot ...I also have New years Eve day and the 1st day of the new year off as well..and paid too....quite happy about that)

So I would rather do the decos. and tree now, and focus on doing Christmas dinner instead of both.
(sadly my lady won't be joining me this holiday...easter she is coming...so it will be a huge variety of my home cooking and baking filling the table for ...me....I'm afraid...but...it won't get wasted ...just turned into dinners for work...)

The pup and cat always look forward to x-mas...
they always get a once a year dinner I specially make for them,
and of course their stockings full of toys and treats...they can't wait for.

and this year ...
I do hope the snow comes ....even for a day or two AT Christmas...just deep enough to go and take the dog tobogganing down my hills here...
I would take the cat...but he likes to come and play a "supporting" role and comes down to watch and get pets at the bottom of the hill ...(He does tend to meow a lot and chase the sled ....I think he is concerned for my safety ..doesn't want my "can-opener" hand to get hurt..hahahaha)
