That's normal for LCD screens. It's called dead pixels. Some exist from the start (and warranties exclude a certain amount of dead pixels for replacement). After a while, more dead-pixels can develop, but there isn't anything oen can do about it. Pressing hard can definitely put more stress on the LCD and trigger failures earlier rather than later. I don't think magnets have anything to do with it.
