LIke the Jolla 1, the N900 lacks the proper 3G bands to work with AT&T, and Ma Bell cut off 2G a couple years ago. T-Mobile maintains some 2G coverage till 2020, I think for data users like old-but-still-working embedded devices: lojack, bathroom scales, burglar alarms, etc. And T-Mo's 3G bands should still work with AT&T.
