I did not vote for the cat. I voted for the picture. I do not care what the picture is of and do not let that cloud my judgement. It is an excellent quality picture that fits the theme*). Everything about it is excellent: the sharpness, the focus, the colours, the light and shadows, the composition... That it was a picture of a cat does not play a role.

I'll tell you a story. I had a girlfriend once who was a potter. She made ceramic pots for a living. She said there are three types of buyers:
1) Those who admire the craftsmanship
2) Those who appreciate that it is handmade
3) Those who buy it because there is a picture of a cat/dog/heron on it

*) My own picture fits the theme too but is far from "excellent". Or even "decent". I posted it purely out of frustration. Everyone else tried so hard to fit the theme without actually posting an actual portrait. Robthebold came close but even he did his hardest to hide the subject's face. So please take my entry as a protest against the snowflake PC world.
