So, I made a deep research and even came in contact with some people involved in the Meltemi project. I published my thoughts and findings in an article called “The Kataya Exposed: An 2000 words ode to Nokia’s Golden Age” (you can read it here: https://www.lovenokia.net/2020/06/no...n-age.html?m=1 ). I also tried to reproduce the Kataya UI experience through an Android app, but never completed it (lovenokia covered my app preview here: https://www.lovenokia.net/2020/06/ex...kia-2.html?m=1 ). I would be very interested if the Kataya owner could/wanted to share more with us.
Χαιρετίσματα στην πατρίδα!

Yes, I remember that article! Quite some research indeed! I was also happy to see that a fellow Greek was also interested in these rarities! Meltemi was meant to be the successor of Asha phones (S40), and I saw some prototypes here and there in this community. However, Kataya looks quite different compared to those prototypes. It could be that indeed it ran on Meltemi, but with a very heavily customized UI, or according to some people it might ran Android with a custom skin (eg Nokia X series had a windowsphone-like custom UI on Android). We still lack the info, perhaps additional photos or videos of the Kataya could help, or even a review based on hands-on experience.
