If your not running linux as your main OS, you can download the Maemo live CD (http://maemo.org/maemowiki/LiveCD) and boot off of it. From there you can use the new flasher (http://www.maemo.org/downloads/d3.php) to go back to 2005. It's just two terminal commands that you have to run. "chmod +x ./flasher-2.0" to make it an executable, and "./flasher-2.0 -F imagetoflash.bin -f -R" to flash to the 2005 version.
