Battery indicator shows Keyboard side battery only with Pinephone Keyboard. That means you can use it quite long time after indicator shows 0% and you can charge about 2 hours more after it is 100% to get phone side battery full, because it charge keyboard side battery first.

You can check both batteries with command in X terminal:
