I have a friend that is a postman who listens to podcasts regularly while doing his rounds, and know a few commuters that do too. They are ideal if you are in that situation.
If you drive to work then maybe (although I prefer NPR). If you use public transportation though, it is much easier, faster, and more effective to read the same information off a web site or an RSS reader.
