Dunno, never tried it: textual web pages are available even before I decide to have a drink.

Sorry I didn't define 'in the middle of the countryside' as an urban place. The rest of the places have 3G, but not in the tunnels and subways.
I didn't either, just mentioned that GPRS is available both in urban and country settings, as long as you do not go kilometers deep into the forest or something. BTW, web pages load well enough with plain GPRS, no need for 3G

because it isn't utterly purposless to many people. To many people it is the only viable choice.
I actually get the point about podcasts being useful for people who drive (and like blogging stuff strongly enough to crave it even on radio). I can probably buy into the usage case where the user has problems concentrating (i.e. has ADD syndrome, is riding a donkey, etc.). But, aside from these usage cases, I do not see any others
