i bought an external battery charger, and for some reason it works every time! it never charges connected to a wall socket (i am in spain don't know if it makes a diff. i bought it in the states) or to a laptop usb, but with the sync retractable cable and the external battery...works every time. doesn't matter if i drain the bettery completely!
