the house I am currently sleeping in has thick walls (being an old italian house), and my UMTS provider won't penetrate those walls, but the GPRS/EDGE signal does (and from a roaming partner).
So he's still right in my case :-p

The higher bandwidth provided by UMTS won't penetrate the walls.
