I helped install the world's first computer banking system. It occupied three floors of a building that was one city block in each direction. It had a clock speed of one megahertz. (Actually, we didn't us the term "Hertz" at that time - it was one megacycle.)

One of the vacuum tube computers that I worked on was later shipped to the Smithsonian Institute.

I designed and built my own computer at the same time that Bill Gates designed and built his first computer. I sat back and said "wow - I've done it". Bill moved forward and made $47,000,000,000.

I'm a linux newbie at 62, although I was a unix user before IBM shipped their first personal computer.
