hi all, i want to do something much simpler. I want to get this functionality without paying 24 bucks, and possibly without airtunes.

"Using Signal from the iPhone looks best and works really fast. You can tell that the web interface is made for the device. I don't have an iPod Touch, but I guess it is the same experience. So how does it look like on other devices with other browsers? Well, any request will bring up a virtual iPhone in your browser and then work just the same. Hence the remote control from any laptop works great, too. Good stuff! I also tested the access from a Nokia N800 Internet Tablet - which by default also goes to the virtual iPhone screen - and would require a bit of scrolling up and down. But then, even better, just by changing the URL from http://macmini:3569/iphone/phone.html to http://macmini:3569/iphone/ I was able to get the normal iPhone content full screen on the N800 - which works great, too." another post on http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/33874

I just want to be able to be outside (or wherever) and use my n800 as a remote for my music. i want to see it all like i would see my computer, or as a mp3 player would display it. i dont want to vpn or rdesktop it, as without the n800 keyboard its a hassle to type in song names to add to a queue.

basically i want my n800 to be able to change what the computer upstairs is playing on the speakers...

I know that the new logitech squeezbox duet is based on linux, so if we could get something like that on the n800 that would be great.

Thanks
